Ezzy Barr, a 14-year-old freshman from Elizabethton High School, recently returned from Europe, where she competed in THECUP2025, one of the most prestigious softball tournaments in the world. Representing Team USA (Chaos), Barr delivered an impressive performance from the pitching circle, facing elite European national team players.

During the tournament, Barr pitched in three games, totaling seven innings. She faced 24 batters, allowing only two hits while striking out nine. She finished with five walks and five runs allowed, demonstrating her skill and poise on the international stage.

Barr proudly represented Tennessee, Elizabethton High School, and her travel team, Velocity Fastpitch-Dean, against some of the best teams in the tournament. Her standout performance earned her an invitation to return for THECUP2026 next January, as well as offers to play in Germany this summer.

Last season, Barr was one of the youngest players selected to compete in this elite event. She dedicates significant time to training and preparing, not only for international competition but also for Elizabethton High’s upcoming softball season. In addition to her international success, Barr is part of the All-American team and has played in Reno, Nev.; Houston, Texas; and South Carolina, competing in high-profile college showcase events under the guidance of her travel coach, Jeff Dean.

Barr credits her success to God and the dedicated coaches who have shaped her game, including pitching coach James Laughren, hitting coach Danielle Jason, and Elizabethton High School coach Ken Hardin.

With another international tournament on the horizon and new opportunities unfolding, Barr continues to make a name for herself as one of Tennessee’s rising softball stars.
