On Wednesday, August 3, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Keith T. Duncan, 56, Johnson City, and charged him with aggravated arson.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to an apartment complex on reports of an intoxicated male setting fires inside his apartment. Officers located Duncan wondering outside of his smoldering apartment. He was detained while neighbors were questioned. It was found that Duncan set multiple small fires inside his apartment with his fiancée inside. The Johnson City Fire Department extinguished and ventilated the apartment after finding burned pillows, bed linens and bath towels in the kitchen area of Duncan’s apartment.
Duncan was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. Arraignment is set for today in Washington County General Sessions Court.
