A Viking dismantling… Hampton rolls over Vance in boys, girls play

Hampton and Vance tangled in boys and girls basketball play on Tuesday evening inside the Dog Pound at Hampton Middle School.
The teams from Bristol had a long ride back home after the Bulldogs took three of the four games heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.
Boys Varsity
Hampton….57
Vance……..29
The Hampton Bulldogs are barking loud and everyone is starting to sit up and take notice as Coach Dewayne Humphrey’s Jr. ‘Dogs methodically sliced the visiting Jr. Vikings to shreds and Dylan Trivett was the head surgeon.
Behind Trivett’s 24 points, the Bulldogs easily defeated Vance 57-29 in a game where Hampton was clicking on all cylinders with crisp passes, a nasty full-court press, and too many weapons for the Jr. Vikings to stop.
Post player Hayden Campbell totaled 10 points, many from point-blank range and Chance Point collected nine. Michael Anspaugh had a good outing totaling eight points.
Dominic Burleson and Chander Smith closed out the scoring with four and two points respectively.
Aside from 24 points, Trivett also had an all-around solid game pulling down nine rebounds just missing a double-double while handing out four assists, five steals, and four blocked shots.
Campbell hit the boards for six rebounds while Point added five.
Josh Sizemore had 14 points to lead the visiting Jr. Vikings.
Boys Junior Varsity

Behind nine points from Zander Phillips, Vance gained a split in boys play taking the JV contest 35-22.
Caden Davis and Dominic Burleson scored seven points each to lead Hampton. Jared Taylor chipped in with six points while Will Cable closed out the scoring with two points.
Girls Varsity

In girls’ play, the Jr. Lady Vikings absolutely had no answer for the Hampton Lady ‘Dogs as eight players scored for Coach Ginny White’s squad in the win.
Taylor Berry led all Hampton scorers with a game-high 12 points. Piper Helle was a contributing factor collecting eight points while Lacey Smith and Macy Henry knocking down six points apiece.
Gracie Ballard (5), Abbie Lunsford (2), Hannah Smith (2), and Brooklyn Adams (2) closed out the scoring for the Jr. Lady ‘Dogs.
Faye Carrico pulled down nine rebounds while Helle was also a force reeling in six rebounds and adding five steals. Helle also added a blocked shot.
Girls Junior Varsity
Hampton….25
Vance………14
Piper Helle scored eight points to pace the Jr. Lady ‘Dogs junior varsity team to the 11-point victory.
Ella Eastep, Hannah Smith, and Faye Carrico aided the win by scoring four points each in the win. Abbie Lunsford totaled three and Haylie Point two points to close out the scoring ledger.
Taylor Berry and Macy Henry cleaned the boards for six rebounds with five being recorded by Lindsay Hardin and Lacey Smith.
Helle added six steals in the victory while Berry had four takeaways.
