The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department has announced Rockin’ on the Doe, a special edition of the popular Covered Bridge Jams concert series.

The free event will take place Saturday, Aug. 16, on East Elk Avenue, with the stage set in front of the monument. The concert is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will feature Chicago Rewired — The Premier Chicago Tribute Band.

Chicago Rewired is a tribute to Chicago, one of the longest-running and most successful pop/rock groups in music history. Formed in 2015, the eight-piece band has played venues across the country, large and small. Their lineup includes talented musicians who perform on keyboard, guitar, drums, trombone and even flugelhorn.

Their energy is known to be contagious, and audiences are sure to enjoy not only the music but also the vibrant stage presence of the band.

“We are expecting a large crowd to come out and enjoy this amazing group. We know the community will enjoy the music, the atmosphere and the festivities,” said Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Director David Nanney.

Several food trucks will be on-site with dinner and snack options, and attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the performance.
