Bites by the Bridge coming May 2
Bites by the Bridge will make its first spring appearance on Friday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Covered Bridge Park.
Sponsored by the City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation and Downtown Elizabethton, this is the first food truck court of the season. Other Bites by the Bridge events are scheduled for June 6, July 11 and Aug. 1.
This is the second year for the monthly outdoor food truck court. The event offers a rotating lineup of local food trucks each month, providing a variety of lunch, snack and dessert options. Tents and tables will be available in Covered Bridge Park for convenience, and lawn games will be provided for guests of all ages.
Whether you’re taking a break from work, meeting friends or enjoying time with family, Bites by the Bridge is designed to offer a simple and enjoyable outdoor dining experience.
May the Fourth Be With You on Sunday
The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Center will host May the Fourth Be With You at Elizabethton Kiwanis Park on Sunday, May 4.
Co-hosting the event is the Elizabethton/Carter County Library. Events will begin at 6 p.m. Activities include a screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, beginning at dusk. Star Wars fans of all ages are invited to attend and enjoy Star Wars-themed trivia from Trivia With Budds, Star Wars-themed activities and face painting with Magic Mirror Skin Art.
Those attending are invited to bring a blanket or a lawn chair to enjoy the movie.
Food will be available from Crave Hotdogs & BBQ, Tin Can Diner, Good Karma Kettle Corn and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee.
First Friday is back in downtown Elizabethton
First Friday: Adventure Vibes will be held in downtown Elizabethton on Friday, May 2, from 5 to 11 p.m.
The event will be hosted by Downtown Elizabethton, Riverside Taphouse and Crossroads Craftworks.
It’s an opportunity to engage in a fun summer series and experience downtown Elizabethton. Those attending are invited to pick up a BINGO card each month to guide them around to experience participating businesses, three zones of activities, live entertainment and much more.
There will be live music and performances in the downtown streets, a family-friendly Fun Zone and a mobile food zone on Armed Forces Drive.
The May 2 Fun Zone will feature mini golf, yard games and an Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank table.
Live performances will be presented by Nathaniel Bagley of Crossroads Craftworks, Mark Larkins of Fun Zone, Aaron Dingus of Hellbender Outfitters, Peston Benfield at Jiggy Ray’s and a performance to be announced at Riverside Taphouse.
The mobile food zone will feature Taco 52, Tin Can Diner and the Blended Pedaler.
The Community Zone will feature Isaiah 117 House and the Elizabethton River Riders.
