Miss Food City Pageant 2025 to crown new representative, seeks contestants

ABINGDON, Va. — The annual Miss Food City Pageant, a beloved tradition that showcases young women from across the region, will take place on Saturday, March 8, at 7 p.m. The event, presented by WXBQ 96.9 FM – 24 Carrot Country and the Twin City Woman’s Club, will be hosted at The McGlothlin Center for the Arts at Emory & Henry University in Emory, Va.
The winner of the pageant, Miss Food City 2025, will serve as an ambassador for Food City, representing the company at store grand openings and various special events, including the Food City 300 and Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Tickets for the pageant will be available at the door for $10, with children under five admitted free of charge. Proceeds from the event will benefit Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
“It has been our extreme pleasure to have Addison Smith of Abingdon, Va., represent our company during her reign as Miss Food City 2024,” said Steven C. Smith, president and chief executive officer of Food City. “We certainly look forward to crowning Miss Food City 2025.”
The pageant is currently seeking contestants from across the region. The entry fee is $110, and applications are available online at Food City’s website. The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, Feb. 20. Contestants will be limited to the first 25 applications received.
Miss Food City 2025 will receive $5,000 in cash, a $1,200 scholarship from Sodalis, and additional prizes.
