Holston Habitat for Humanity announces a Home Dedication Ceremony for Corrie and her daughter, marking the completion of their new home at 606 Blevins Avenue in Elizabethton. The ceremony will take place Friday, Jan. 24, at 3 p.m.
Corrie and her daughter have worked tirelessly to build a beautiful two-bedroom, one-bathroom home featuring state-of-the-art finishes, energy-efficient windows, and stainless steel appliances. Through their dedication to the Habitat program, Corrie has completed over 250 hours of sweat equity and financial health classes, preparing her for successful homeownership.
Corrie’s new home is especially meaningful as she becomes the 363rd family served by Holston Habitat for Humanity, and this home represents the 264th new home built by the organization. With support from Richard and Norma Tetrick and family and the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Cincinnati, Corrie’s affordable Habitat mortgage will ensure that her monthly payment remains at just 30% of her income, providing long-term stability for her family.
Holston Habitat is proud to announce that this Dedication Ceremony is the first of many great things to come in 2025 as the organization celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The Home Dedication Ceremony will include a ceremonial key presentation, speeches from community leaders, and an opportunity for Corrie and her daughter to express their gratitude to everyone who helped make their dream of homeownership a reality.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate Corrie and her daughter’s journey to homeownership,” said Laura Kelly, Holston Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director. “This home is not only a place for them to build their future but also represents the impact of our community working together to help families achieve stability. They have worked hard for this moment, and it couldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our donors and volunteers.”
The dedication ceremony is open to the public, and all are invited to join in this special celebration of homeownership and community.
Holston Habitat for Humanity is an equal opportunity 501(c)3 housing ministry that builds energy-efficient, affordable homes in Carter, Sullivan, and Washington counties, Tenn., and Bristol, Va. Homes are sold to qualified homebuyers using an affordable Habitat mortgage.
