The selection of the Player of the Week for the Elizabethton Cyclones in their game against Northview Academy was a no-brainer, as junior signal caller Rhett Slagle had his name stamped all over the Cyclones’ 49-20 win.
Slagle had a perfect passing night, completing 21 of 21 passes for 282 yards with no interceptions. Included in those passing totals were four touchdown passes of 15 yards or more — two to Zack Wallin and one each to Justin Whitehead and Justius Wallin.
Not only did Slagle lead the Cyclones through the air, but he also carried the ball 15 times for 74 of Elizabethton’s 136 rushing yards in the contest. He scored on runs of 10 and five yards as well.
Slagle accounted for 356 yards of offense out of the Cyclones’ 418 total yards on the night.
