Johnson City man arrested on child neglect, resisting arrest charges

JOHNSON CITY – On April 6, Johnson City Police Department officers arrested Charles Jones, 34, Johnson City. Jones faces charges of child neglect and resisting arrest.

The arrest came as officers conducted a child welfare check at a residence on Terrace Court. They had received information indicating that Jones was caring for his juvenile child while potentially under the influence and armed with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers encountered Jones, who was reportedly intoxicated, combative, and resistant to arrest.

Following the altercation, Jones was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
