The Carter County Democratic Party will have a dedication ceremony Saturday, May 27, at 11 a.m. to dedicate a commemorative bench and plaque in honor of long-time Carter County Election Commissioner Millard Garland.
The dedication ceremony will be held at the Election Commission building. Garland is remembered for “being a sail and anchor” for the local Democratic Party. His guiding principle was that Democrats want everyone to thrive.
Refreshments will be served.
