Stephen Scott Buckles

Stephen Scott Buckles, 49, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019, unexpectedly at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Melvin & Rebecca Rogers Buckles. Steve was an employee of Northeast Correctional Center in Mountain City for 28 years. He attended Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Heather Timbs Buckles who passed away June 12, 2019 and his father-in-law: William Timbs.

Survivors include his daughter: Celeste Buckles of the home, his father & mother-in-law: Tony & Rosemary Hartley and brother-in-law: Williams Timbs.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jamie Ferguson and Pastor Rusty Verran officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2019, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Patty Hodge. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and Co-Workers and family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Steve to the Northeast Community Credit Union, 980 Witten Way, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643, to help further Celeste education.
