Key Club comes to Happy Valley High School

Happy Valley High School now officially has a Key Club. Their sponsor, the Kiwanis Club of Elizabethton, hosted a charter presentation ceremony Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9, at Happy Valley High School.

Seth Miller, Elizabethton Kiwanis Club President, presented the new charter to Happy Valley teacher sponsors Noah Edwards and Megan Hall. Rebekah Potter, Division 7 Lt. Governor of the Kentucky-Tennessee District of Key Club International, installed the new officers.

Ellen Carpenter, Happy Valley High School Key Club President, gave closing remarks expressing appreciation to Elizabethton Kiwanis and the high school for their support. The club joins six other school service clubs in the community sponsored by Elizabethton Kiwanis: Elizabethton and Unaka High School Key Clubs, T.A. Dugger Junior High Builders Club, East Side, Harold McCormick and Westside Elementary K-Kids Clubs.

Happy Valley joins approximately 5000 members in 150 clubs in Kentucky and Tennessee. Sponsored by Kiwanis International, Key Club International is the world’s oldest and largest high school service organization with approximately 270,000 members in more than 38 countries. Key Club’s purpose is to provide leadership opportunities for its members through service to others.
