JOHNSON CITY — A Johnson City man was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated kidnapping after police say he took his child without having legal custody.
According to the Johnson City Police Department, officers responded April 29 to a residence on North Roan Street following a report of a kidnapping. An investigation determined that David Short, 25, had taken his child from the home despite not having legal custody.
Short and the child were located a short time later in Jonesborough. Officers took Short into custody with assistance from the Jonesborough Police Department.
He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. A bond hearing will be scheduled.
