Vickie Emery, 69, died peacefully at her home in Unicoi early Wednesday morning after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Carter County to the late Curtis and Billie Estep. She graduated from East Tennessee State University and was a dental hygienist for 48 years. She was a member of East Unaka Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Wayne Emery; a sister, Teresa Reed (Mitch); two nephews, Ethan Reed (Sarah) and Adam Reed (Sydney); a stepsister, Portia Sams; a stepbrother, Mike Estep; her stepmother, Patsy Estep; stepdaughters, Tanya Benbow and Annika Evans; and five stepgrandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at East Unaka Christian Church, 1201 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, on Saturday, April 26. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. After the service, entombment will be at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Unaka Christian Church, 1201 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601.
