The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department has announced the long-awaited reopening of racquetball courts at the Tetrick Community Center, located at 1509 W. Elk Ave.

The courts, once a local favorite at the former Wellness Center, had been unavailable since the facility closed in 2020. With Parks and Rec now headquartered at the renamed Tetrick Community Center, staff have been working to restore access to popular amenities.

Beginning Monday, April 14, racquetball courts will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants must sign in and complete a waiver at the front desk.

“We know how important this space has been to the community,” said David Nanney, Parks and Recreation director. “Reopening these courts supports our mission to provide unique and accessible opportunities for physical activity and wellness for all residents.”
