Christine Grace “Chrissy” Dugger, 68, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, following an extended illness. Chrissy was born Sept. 23, 1956, to Carmon and Charlotte Dugger of Elizabethton. She is preceded in death by her daddy, Carmon Eugene Dugger Sr.; brother, Carmon Eugene Dugger Jr.; niece, Kimberly Christine Harper; nephew, Curtis James Dugger; and husband, Michael Fitchett.
Chrissy is survived by her mother, Charlotte Grace Hendrix Dugger; sister, Catherine “Cathy” Harper; brothers, Curtis P. Dugger and Charles (Diane) Dugger, all of Elizabethton; nieces, Martha Dugger and Ellie Dugger; nephews, Adam Dugger and Brian Dugger; great-nephew, Ashton Dugger; great-nieces, Karlei Nox Reyes and Helaiyna Reyes; special cousin, Jan Dugger; aunts, Janene Allen and Linda Shelton; and several cousins.
Chrissy was a 1974 graduate of Elizabethton High School, where she was a cheerleader for the Betsy Cyclones. After high school, she attended and graduated from the ETSU Nave Paramedical Center in Elizabethton. She worked briefly in the dental field but went on to spend the remainder of her career as assistant to the president of Home Federal Bank in Johnson City, until her medical retirement. She was a member of Southside Christian Church.
Chrissy had an immense love of animals, especially cats. She leaves behind eight cats and one dog. She volunteered regularly at the local animal shelters and would rescue and find homes for stray cats.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Minister Mike Koruschak officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at Memorial Funeral Home before proceeding to the graveside. Family and friends may call on the family at the home of her mother, Charlotte Dugger. Active pallbearers will be chosen from family and friends.
