Modern Woodmen of America members in Elizabethton recently donated $5,000 to TLC Community Center to support local relief efforts following flooding from Hurricane Helene.
The donation, made through Modern Woodmen’s Matching Fund Program, was raised during a special event on Feb. 5. The funds will assist flood victims in the community.
The Matching Fund Program allows Modern Woodmen members nationwide to support community causes, organizations, or individuals in need through fundraising events. These projects contribute more than $10 million annually to community needs across the country.
“The community truly came together to support a local need,” said Donna Bare, local Modern Woodmen volunteer leader. “That support is what it’s all about.”
Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization’s chapters and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to engage in social and educational activities and volunteer projects that address local needs.
