Jason Honeycutt, 64, of Roan Mountain, passed away at Sycamore Shoals Hospital on January 20, 2025. He was born to the still living, Betty Hurley. Jason was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Townsend, and a sister, Georgia Whitson.
Jason was a carpenter. He loved working with his hands and building things. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Honeycutt; four children, Willard Honeycutt (Tiffany), Amanda Honeycutt, Jessica Coffey, and Jimmy Honeycutt; grandchildren, Jacob, Frehley, Lucas, Jasper, Francis, Maggie, Curtis Jr. (Bobo), and Nora (Nubbins); a sister, Junette Harrison (Kenny); two brothers, Tony Townsend (Debbi) and Gary Townsend; a great-aunt and uncle, Virginia and Jason Honeycutt; close friends, Deborah and Bill Eastenridge, Brian Church, Dillard Largent, Keith and Deb Weeks, and Ed Young; “Little People” Brooklyn, Presleigh, Vestina, Iverleigh, Hazel, and Mitchell; as well as many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 27, at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church (570 Ray Simerly Road Hampton, TN 37658) with Pastor Gary Whitehead officiating. They will have a memorial service starting at 7 p.m.
