The Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library is inviting community members to participate in a new monthly event, Front Porch Storytellers: A Sharing of Your Story or Song, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the library, located at 201 N. Sycamore St. in Elizabethton. Space is limited to 10 participants to ensure a small, welcoming group of storytellers, singers, and listeners without the pressure of performing for a large audience. The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. at 411 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton.
- Monday, January 27
The spring season of the Elizabethton Choral Club will begin rehearsals on January 27 at 7 p.m. in the choir room of First Baptist Church, 212 East F St, Elizabethton. Adult singers of all ages are encouraged to rehearse with the group weekly on Mondays in preparation for a spring concert in May.
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. All Carter County Democratic Women – and men, too, are invited to the first meeting of the year of the Carter County Democratic Women at 5:25 to eat and 6 p.m. for a business meeting and planning session. The first item on the agenda will be the formal election of officers followed by the paying of dues which helps finance club projects. All are invited.
