Jr. Lady Cyclones slip past Lady Huskies on road

Coach Matt Fox took the T.A. Dugger Jr. Lady Cyclones on the road Monday evening to Kingsport, and his team didn’t disappoint in their battle with Sullivan Heights.

Behind a game-high 14 points from Aubry Szabo, the Jr. Lady Cyclones took a nip-and-tuck battle 28-23.

Szabo had the hot hand as she nailed three treys in the victory.

The Jr. Lady Cyclones saw only four players, including Szabo, record points in the game, as Kiana Adams added nine points in the victory.

McKenzie Perkins and Rylee Minton played contributing roles in the win with three and two points, respectively.

Faith Clifton led the home team with 13 points on the evening. Lacy Leonard added four points, as did Abigail Desalegh. Lola Sensabaugh had two points.

In the opening game of the evening, the junior varsity girls from T.A. Dugger made it a clean sweep on the night as the Jr. Lady Cyclones took a nine-point victory, 22-13.

Kyrah Campbell and Harper Collake scored five points apiece to pace T.A.D. to the win. Miley Bowling and Stella Holtsclaw chipped in with three points each.

Samira Ebanks, Haley Adams and Zoey Porter added two points each.

Daisy Harrison led the Lady Huskies with five points.
