JOHNSON CITY – Officers with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Justin Oaks, 29, Johnson City, on Dec. 11, charging him with aggravated assault and aggravated child abuse involving a child under the age of 8.

The investigation began Wednesday evening when an area hospital reported the child’s injuries to police.

Following an interview with investigators, Oaks was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. A bond hearing was scheduled for later today.

The investigation is ongoing.
