The Greeneville Middle Jr. Lady Greene Devils may have never visited a woodshed before, but they sure did on Monday night as the host T.A. Dugger Middle Jr. Lady Cyclones turned the visitors every which way but loose.
Behind a powerful inside performance by Kiana Adams, the Jr. Lady Cyclones found little resistance in running away with a 38-16 victory.
Adams was doing her best Wonder Woman impersonation, unstoppable under the basket, as she scored a game-high 19 points for TAD. Adams had plenty of help from teammate Aubry Szabo, who dished out assist after assist, leading to several easy baskets.
The Jr. Lady Cyclones bolted to a 24-4 halftime lead and never looked back in the home win.
Szabo not only facilitated the offense but also scored nine points in the victory. Rylee Minton and Stella Holtsclaw chipped in four points each, while Hayden Richardson added two points.
Defensive pressure was key to the win, as Coach Matt Fox’s team smothered Greeneville Middle with in-your-face defense throughout the game.
Paitlin Christian led the Lady Greene Devils with a team-high eight points in the loss. Greeneville also received four points from Peyton Vaught, while Braylee Crum and Maggie Moore each added two points.
