Carter County Sheriff’s Department reports arrests

The following arrests have been reported by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office: 

Convicted Felon with Firearm Arrest
On Nov. 17, Deputy Thomas Hill and Sgt. Cory Locklear arrested Randy R. Canter on Short Coal Chute Road for unlawful possession of a firearm. Canter, a convicted felon, admitted to possessing a shotgun and was charged with unlawful carry/possession of a weapon. The firearm and ammunition were collected as evidence, and Canter was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

Failure to Appear Arrest
On Nov. 18, Sgt. Christian Carrier arrested David Tyler Livingston at a residence on Commodore Avenue for failure to appear in a felony case. Livingston was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

Probation Violation Arrest
Deputy Robbie Huskins arrested Shane Raymond Taylor on Nov. 18 at a residence on Commodore Avenue for violation of probation. Taylor was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

Voluntary Turn-In
On Nov. 18, Randy Keith Burrow turned himself in at the Carter County Detention Center for failure to appear in a misdemeanor case. Lt. Justin Burchfield processed the arrest without incident.

Probation Violation at Camper
On Nov. 18, Sgt. Tyler Holsclaw arrested Deranda Marie Fair at a property on Anderson Road after she was found hiding in a camper. Fair initially faked medical issues but was medically cleared and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

Failure to Appear in Felony Case
On Nov. 18, Deputy Kevin Kemp arrested Matthew Hunter Hudson at Sinking Creek Baptist Church for failure to appear in a felony case. Hudson was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

Criminal Trespass Arrest
On Nov. 19, Deputy Jared Shelton arrested Jennifer Michelle Russell for criminal trespass at a property on Highway 321 in Hampton. Russell, previously trespassed from the property on Nov. 7, attempted to evade officers but was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

Probation Violation Arrest
Deputy Kevin Kemp arrested Virginia Grace Craig on Nov. 19 at the Washington County Detention Center for two counts of probation violation. Craig was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

Domestic Assault Arrest
On Nov. 19, Deputy Jerry Dykes arrested Bethany Anne Chapman for aggravated assault (domestic) after she attacked her mother with hot grease and a sharp object during an argument. Chapman was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

Probation Violation Turn-In
On Nov. 19, Marc Steven Keranen turned himself in at the Carter County Detention Center for a probation violation. Sgt. Tyler Holsclaw processed the arrest without incident.

Parole Violation Arrest
On Nov. 19, Deputy Brett Butler took custody of Hutch Freddie Lee Sims from Johnson City Police. Sims was arrested for parole violation and warrants for domestic violence and reckless endangerment. He was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.

Failure to Appear Arrest
On Nov. 20, Deputy Jeff Winters arrested Dakota Shane Nicholson at the Monroe County Jail for failure to appear in a misdemeanor case. Nicholson was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.

Failure to Appear Arrest
On Nov. 21, Sgt. Cory Locklear and Deputy Donovan Bemiller arrested Amy Ericka Arnett on Walnut Mountain Road for failure to appear in a misdemeanor case. Arnett was transported to the Carter County Detention Center on a $250 bond.

Probation Violation Arrest
On Nov. 21, Deputy Jeff Winters arrested Jeremy Michael Hatley at the Washington County Detention Center for probation violation. Hatley was transported to the Carter County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.

Note: All arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
