Two Carter County churches will open as warming stations during the winter months.

Deliverance Church of God, Hampton, and Doe River Baptist Church will serve as warming shelters for local citizens during the upcoming winter season.

The City of Elizabethton announced on Wednesday that Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, whose facilities are still being used for flood recovery and relief efforts, has partnered with Doe River Baptist, located on Stateline Road in the Valley Forge community, and Hampton Deliverance Church of God to serve as warming stations.
