Winfrey Lee “Dock” Curtis went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 23, 2024. Born December 16, 1930, Winfrey was the daughter of the late William E. Curtis and Christine Kyte Curtis.
Winfrey was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended Steed College. She was employed by North American Rayon and retired after 50 years of service. Winfrey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 45 years.
Besides her parents, Winfrey was preceded in death by four siblings, Mary Katherine Llewellyn, William “Bill” Curtis, Patsy Swartz, and Pat L. Curtis.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her special niece, Debbie Curtis Holmes; sister-in-law, Clara Curtis; special cousin, Jimmy Barnes and wife Tammy; special neighbors, Debbie and Joe Alexander; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rosie and Norman Edwards.
Winfrey was laid to rest on October 25, 2024 in the Highlands Cemetery in Elizabethton, Tenn.
