Johnson City man arrested for aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor

JOHNSON CITY – On Oct. 24, investigators with the Johnson City Police Department Special Victims Unit (JCPD SVU) arrested Brett Howington, 28, of Johnson City, and charged him with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
The arrest followed an investigation conducted by the JCPD SVU as part of the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation focused on the distribution of child pornography, and Howington was identified as the suspect. Investigators executed a search warrant at his residence, leading to his arrest.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are pending.
Howington was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
