Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

To the Editor:
Our disaster workers, I’m sure, could use some fresh helpers, especially those who are skilled and maybe have tools and equipment. This is a call out to our churches, regardless of your branch of faith.

If you have time and energy to spare, call FEMA or some of your local disaster relief services, and ask if they have a place for you and your church members, high school and college students, especially, to volunteer.

I have volunteered when I was younger and stronger, so now I am passing the torch, asking you to give of your time and skills. Sometimes, it may just be tote and carry, but I will assure you, it will be appreciated, especially by God, if you believe, and all those whom you help.

And I will especially thank you for taking my place as there are so many things I wish I could still do. So churches, I challenge you.
