Thomas James “T.J.” Riddle, 43, Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away at Tennova Healthcare, Knoxville, Tenn., after a brief illness on October 14, 2024, with his mother, Joanna, by his side. He was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., in 1981 to Joanna and Eddie Riddle.

T.J. attended Unaka High School then went into bricklaying as a profession. He loved spending time with his friends, Mama and dogs. He especially loved his dog, “Little Bit.” T.J. was known for always making people laugh. He loved telling stories, loved music, and going to Red Banks.

Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Deanna Jo; father, Eddie Riddle; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Louise Riddle; his maternal grandparents, Margret Shankle-Russell and Don Russell; special aunt, Cindy Russell; and lifelong friend, Michael Sliger.

He is survived by his mother, Joanna Riddle, and special friends, Robert, Tammy, Mason Sliger and Zack.

Joanna, his Mama, is heartbroken. Thomas was her best friend. Her Baby Boy is all grown up now with wings, His Happy Place.

It was his wish to be cremated. A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
