Rosie Pearl Williams Hilton, 85, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Rosie was born in Carter County to the late George and Margaret Bowling Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Hilton; a daughter, Ruth Ann Hilton; her brothers, Earl, Robert “Bob”, Harold and Carl Williams; and two sisters, Lena Jones and Sandra Brock.

Rosie retired from Elizabethton High School as a janitor and had also worked at North Side Hospital for many years. She was a member of East Fairview Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed watching television, especially the Price is Right, gardening, and cooking for her family especially during the holidays.

Those left to cherish Rosie’s memory include her son, Jeffrey Hilton and his wife Jennifer; her sisters, Betty Hopson, Carolyn Campbell, Patricia Collins and Ivalee Williams; two granddaughters, Mackenzie Birchfield and Kaylee Pearce Hilton; two great-granddaughters and one on the way, Callie Phillips, Kiyah Delacruz and Mariposia Hilton (on the way); one great-grandson, Alexander Shafer; two good friends, Wilma Bowers and Leona Ledford; and a good friend and neighbor, Faye Clawson. Several nieces, nephews and extended family survive.

A service to celebrate Rosie’s life will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor Roy Adkins officiating. Music will be provided by Donna Shepard and Shannon and Ashley Sims. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, or at 177 Lacy Hollow Road, Elizabethton, at other times.

The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, in the Grindstaff Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brian Pritchard, Mike Brock, Les Brock, David Shepard, Kevin Collins and Shannon Sims. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Rosie to East Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, 113 Old Charity Hill Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
