Born and raised in Tennessee, Janice lived in Virginia for over 40 years and went home to the Lord on October 2, 2024.

Janice enjoyed the beach and shopping trips with her friends to Pennsylvania. She retired from Noland Company after 20 plus years. Janice was a wonderful woman and lovely mother and will be missed by many. 

She is  survived by two sons, J.B. Bowen and Jeff Bowen; grandchildren, Stephanie Creech, Taylor Nicole Bowen, Megan Hurst and Brandon Bowen; and  great-grandchildren, Clay Creech, River Creech, Graylynn Smith and Sadie Hurst.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carson Whitehead, and sisters, Jean Lewis and Farris Nave. 

Visitation will start at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 10, with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 212 North Main Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. Interment will be in the Whitehead Cemetery, Hampton, Tenn.
