Barktober Fest coming up October 12

The 2024 Barktoberfest in Elizabethton will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Elizabethton Covered Bridge Park.

The event will feature a beer garden, dog contests, live music, pet vendors, and food trucks.

Those attending with their dogs are asked to have them on leashes.

The schedule is as follows: Pup Cake Walk at 2:30 p.m.; Puppy Costume at 3 p.m; Pup Cake Walk at 3:30 p.m.; Strut Your Mutt at 4 p.m.; Pup Cake Walk at 4:30 p.m.; Best Trick at 5 p.m.; Pup Cake Walk at 5:30 p.m.; Doggy & Me Costume at 5:45 p.m.

 

Fall Art Festival in downtown Elizabethton

A Fall Art Festival will be held in downtown Elizabethton Saturday, Oct. 12.

Sponsored by the Elizabethton Arts and Cultural Alliance, the day of celebrating the Arts will include art exhibits, performances from area dance troupes, demonstrations from artists, and community activities.

Artists are encouraged to show their work at the juried art exhibit.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Coloring Connection at Elizabethton Library

The Coloring Connection will be held the second Tuesday of each month (October 8) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elizabethton-Carter County Library.

The coloring event is free to the community and all supplies are provided.

“Coloring is so beneficial and a great way to connect and have fun. Many different coloring options are available, and all supplies are provided,” a library spokesman said.

 

Downtown Elizabethton Walk on Tuesdays

The Downtown Elizabethton Walk is held each Tuesday at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The local Tri-Cities Walking Challenge is led by Jeannie Statzer. Participants will meet outside the Elizabethton-Carter County Library and for an hour enjoy a walk around the downtown and the Tweetsie Trail.

Hosted by the Goose Chase, the goal of the Walking Challenge is to simply get the community moving through walking. This challenge is for you and at least three other friends to walk together to meet the goal of walking 2,024 miles within the next six months.
