T.A. Dugger, Elizabethton Police investigate vandalism incident

The administrative staff at T.A. Dugger Junior High School, in collaboration with the Elizabethton Police Department, is conducting a joint investigation into a vandalism incident discovered yesterday afternoon in one of the school’s restrooms.
The vandalism involved inappropriate and concerning language, which prompted an aggressive investigation. Officials emphasize that at no point has there been any imminent threat or danger to students or staff.
The investigation has led to the identification of a student involved in the incident. School officials are currently working to determine the appropriate disciplinary action. In addition, police involvement has resulted in an arrest and multiple charges.
Elizabethton City Schools (ECS) stated that if any additional information arises that requires heightened security measures, parents will be notified immediately through a school messenger system.
ECS expressed gratitude for its partnership with the Elizabethton Police Department and the department’s commitment to student and staff safety. Officials also encouraged the public to report any information regarding potential threats directly to school administrators or police.
