The Watauga Junior Athletic League (WJAL) hosted a full slate of youth football action on Saturday, with 17 games taking place at five different locations. Teams competed at fields in Hampton, Unaka, Greeneville, Boone, and Happy Valley.

Among the featured games was a matchup between the Happy Valley Grasscutters Maroon and the Cyclones Grasscutters Orange, with Star correspondent Brandon Hyde on hand at Happy Valley to capture the action in photos. The day of competition highlighted the skills and dedication of the young athletes across the region, as the WJAL continues to foster youth football development.

This comprehensive coverage of the WJAL games was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Citizens Bank, supporting the league’s efforts to bring quality athletic experiences to local youth.
