COSBY -“Oh, What a Night” was a hit for the Four Seasons in the 1960s, but for Unaka, Friday night in Cosby will forever be remembered with a different tune — a tune of defeat. On that fateful evening, the Cosby Eagles ran wild, dismantling the Rangers in a game that ended with a crushing score of 60-6.
Cosby wasted no time, unleashing an offensive storm that left Unaka reeling. By halftime, the Eagles had already racked up 48 points, while the Rangers could only manage a single glimmer of hope — a 10-yard run by Connor McKinney that put Unaka on the board. It was the lone bright spot in an otherwise dismal first half.
As the third quarter began, so did the mercy of the continuous clock. With time ticking faster, the game dragged on, but the Rangers’ fate had long been sealed. By 9:15 p.m., the nightmare was finally over, leaving the scoreboard to tell the grim story of a 60-6 defeat.
For the Unaka Rangers, it was a night to forget — a night that reminded them just how fierce the competition can be.
