Patricia Ruth DiFranco, born Nov 11, 1940, in Elizabethton, Tenn., to Ed and Lilly (Grindstaff) May, died peacefully at home with her family on September 3, 2024.
She is survived by her husband, Guy Albert DiFranco; daughter, Remi May Flaherty; son-in-law, Chad Michael Flaherty; grandsons, Jacob Michael Flaherty and Jadon Tyler Flaherty of Rock Hill, S.C.; adopted son, Jordan Salam DiFranco of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Barbara Mick and Ina Briggs of Elizabethton, Tenn.; nieces, Tonya Milam, Ruth Mooney and Christie Briggs; and nephew, Bruce Mick.
Patricia graduated from Elizabethton High School in May 1959. She continued her education at East Tennessee State, Johnson City, with a B.S. in Education in June 1967. She then went on to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary earning a M.R.E. in July 1968 and a Specialist in Education, August 1969.
Patricia married Guy Albert DiFranco on April 4, 1970, in Jos, Nigeria, West Africa. In their 54 years of marriage, they lived and worked as tentmaking missionaries in Nigeria (8 years), Honduras (half year), Seoul, South Korea (10 years), Kuwait (3 years), and Tunisia (7 years.). They traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia, USA, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.
