JOHNSON CITY — On Aug. 30, investigators with the Johnson City Police Department’s Special Victims Unit arrested Sawyer Cross, 25, of Johnson City, and charged him with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation was initiated after the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline. The JCPD, as part of the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, acted on the information provided.
Special Victims Unit investigators identified Cross as the suspect, and he was arrested at his home following the execution of a search warrant.
Cross was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
