It was a tough week for the Elizabethton Cyclones as they dropped the opening game of the 2024 season to Science Hill, a team they have played 100 times in their history.
Many players left everything on the field in the loss, making it challenging to choose one as the Cyclone Player of the Week. In the end, the nod went to junior running back and defensive back Justius Wallin.
Wallin scored his first touchdown of the season in the second quarter of the contest while playing a large role in giving his team an opportunity to win early on from his defensive back position.
“Justius is our leader on defense,” Cyclone head coach Shawn Witten said. “And then he carried the football the way he did while coming up with a big catch on a fourth down.”
Although the game didn’t play out as well as he would have liked, Wallin will undoubtedly continue to play a huge role for his Cyclone team this season, whether on offense or defense.
For his effort, Justius Wallin is this week’s Cyclone Player of the Week.
