Back to School Youth Rally

A Back to School Youth Rally will be held Friday, Aug. 9, at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church, beginning at 7 p.m.

A group choir practice will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the youth rally. The guest speaker will be Preacher Ed Loney.

The rally will feature games, food, fellowship, singing, and preaching.

Pleasant Beach Baptist is located at 125 Watauga Road.

All youth are invited.

 

Trinity Baptist Church

Revival will be held August 4-7 at Trinity Baptist Church, 458 W. Doe Ave.

The evangelist will be Dr. Benny Carper from Greenville, S.C., who does the Bright Spot Hour Gospel Broadcast.

The service Sunday will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Carper preaching, followed by lunch. There will also be a 2 p.m. service featuring Dr. Carper.

Services will be held Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Special singing will be featured.

Dr. James Richardson, pastor, invites the public to attend.

 

First Christian

First Christian Church has worship services Sunday at 9:45 a.m. There is Bible study for adults, youth and children on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

First Christian has a food pantry. Persons needing a food box are asked to call the church office at 542-5651 to make an appointment.

Michael Klaus is minister.

First Christian is located at 513 Hattie Ave.

 

Fork Mountain Free Will

Fork Mountain Free Will Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, will have special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. service. Featured will be the Sugar Hollow Free Will Baptist Church singers.

Everyone is invited.

 

Doe River Baptist

Loren Harris will be in concert Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at Doe River Baptist Church, 113 Avon St.

Loren is well-known in the Southern Gospel community, having previously sung with the Wilburns, The Perrys, and most recently, the Kingdom Heirs.

He now serves as the weekday afternoon DJ for Elizabethton’s Gospel radio station – 107.9 The Bridges-WBEJ – while touring as a solo artist.

The public is invited to the Sunday service.

 

First Presbyterian

Elizabethton First Presbyterian Church will have both an online and live worship service Sunday at 11 a.m.

The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will present the sermon “Buy Ten, Save All,” based on Gen. 18: 22-23.

Meditation is Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Adult Forum is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Martin Hall.

The church is located at 119 West F St.

 

ARM Training

Assistance and Resource Ministries, Inc. (ARM) of Elizabethton will conduct training for all current and prospective volunteers.

Persons seriously interested in supporting the organization’s food and clothing ministries are asked to consider attending the volunteer training, which will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 15, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the ARM facility at 714 West C St. (behind Ingles).

Long Hollow Baptist

Singing will be held today (Saturday) at 5 p.m. at the Long Hollow Baptist Church, after which there will be refreshments.

Featured will be the Knight Family, Glenda Pounds, and the Garland Family.
