JOHNSON CITY — Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Ashley Miller, 30, of Hickory, N.C., and Jonathan Shamblin, 34, of Charlotte, N.C., on charges related to possession of a stolen vehicle.

Officers responded to mile marker 15 on Interstate 26 westbound to assist a woman with a disabled vehicle. Upon investigation, officers discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen in North Carolina. Shamblin attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended.

Miller and Shamblin were transported to the Washington County Detention Center on theft of property charges.
