Donald Henry Stinnett, 83, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Hermitage Health Care Center of Elizabethton. Donald was born in Dayton, Tenn., to the late James and Margaret Walls Stinnett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cristin Claire Shaffer; two brothers, James Stinnett and John Stinnett; and a sister, Marie Pierson.

Donald was a United States Air Force veteran and retired from law enforcement.  

Those left to cherish and remember Donald’s memory include his beloved wife, Arlene Mozelewski Stinnett; five daughters, Karen Sue Salesky, Deborah Ann Burwick (Johnny), Jennifer Arlene Shaffer (William), Elizabeth Wilaby (James) and Eileen Alewine (Allen); his son, Donald J. Stinnett (Heather Oliver) of Bluff City; two sisters, Eileen Tuch and Betty Budden; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Donald will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald J. Stinnett, William Shaffer and Corey Shaffer. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
