Rachel Phipps of Elizabethton was honored with an award for her creativity and workmanship at the 43rd Quilt Show & Competition, hosted by the Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee (SMQ) June 21-22 at the Knoxville Expo Center in Knoxville. Phipps received an Honorable Mention for her quilt “Stars & Flowers” in the Large Applique and/or Mixed Techniques – Solo category. The quilt show featured more than 200 stunning quilts and approximately $6,000 in awards.
