Our federal government and most states have been celebrating June Pride Month. The Bible says in Proverbs 16:18 “pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Strangely the day after Biden made June Gay Pride Month, in 2023, President Biden took a fall at the Air Force Academy. Pride is evil and can keep people from admitting they need Jesus. Pride also keeps people from attending church and from praying.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill calling for 30 days of prayer and fasting beginning July 1, 2024. Tennessee House Joint Resolution 0803 asks the people of the state “to seek God’s hand of mercy, healing on Tennessee.”

A letter signed by Tennessee State Senator Mark Pidy and Representative Monty Fritts accompanying the resolution invites “those who are physically and spiritually inclined to do so to join in a 30-day season of prayer and intermittent fasting for the month of July as a means of humbling ourselves to receive God’s grace, mercy and blessing in Tennessee and in our Nation.” The letter asks churches across Tennessee to read the legislation and take three steps of action: 1. Examine our lives in light of God’s Word and confess our sins. 2. Acknowledge we as the church, have failed to stand for the principles of God, ask for His forgiveness and mercy, and commit to stand firmly on those principles going forward. 3. For those able join in prayer and intermittent fasting as a means of demonstrating our desire for repentance. Pray for the 9,000 children in need of foster care in Tennessee. Pray that Jesus heal our land and remove the violence, human-trafficking, addiction and corruption. Pray that the Holy Spirit fill our halls of government, our classrooms, our places of business, our churches and our homes with peace, love and joy!

Prayer is needed more than ever in America, because the evil corruption in our federal government and millions crossing our borders will impact every Tennessean. The U.S. Dollar is worth less than ever and the U.S. is respected less than ever. Franklin Graham said, “Every demon from hell has been turned loose on our society.” Some experts have said A.I. without controls is like summoning the demons. However, they will not overcome Christians who aren’t just spectators at their church but are equipped and have on the whole armor of God which is explained in Ephesians. It’s the most dangerous time in American history with division over who should be president and Russian nuclear armed ships and subs off the U.S. Coast.

If you want your children to learn to pray, get the right values and morals you should send them to a Christian church and Vacation Bible School. We also have two great Christian camps – Camp Ta Pa Win Go in Watauga and Doe River Gorge in Hampton. This is the best vacation you can send your children on because it could save their soul if they learn how much Jesus loves them and put their trust in Jesus!
