Trio of Jr. Cyclones participate in TMSSA State Track and Field Championship

T.A. Dugger Jr. High was well represented in the 2024 TMSSA State Track and Field Championship held in Clarksville, Tenn., at Austin Peay University.
Three Jr. Lady Cyclones qualified for the meet as Ava Rogers (shotput), Naveah Hooper (Discus) and Vella Nave, who participated in the discus, shot put, and 400-meter run.
The top eight athletes (out of 16 qualifiers) in each event earned all-state medals and went to the podium for medal awarding.
Rogers was an All-State performer as she placed fourth in the shot put. She had a throw of 36-2.
For Nave, the athlete achieved new personal bests in all three of her events as she finished in sixth place and earned All-State in the discus with a throw of 93-5.
She just missed All-State honors in the shot put as she finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 34-8.5.
Nave wrapped up her day with a 12th-place finish in the 400-meter run as she clocked a time of 1:03.11.
Hooper collected a 14th-place finish in the discus as she recorded a throw of 68-3.
