Keep America Beautiful, in collaboration with Keep Tennessee Beautiful and Keep Carter County Beautiful, is excited to announce the rescheduled date for the Great American Cleanup. The event will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Volunteers are encouraged to join this nationwide effort to beautify communities across the country.

Keep Carter County Beautiful will lead the cleanup efforts, focusing on removing litter along the Tweetsie Trail from Lions Field to the parking lot behind the Coffee Company. Participants are requested to meet at 10:00 AM at the Lions Field Tweetsie access parking lot. For a map of the cleanup area, please visit our website at www.kccbtn.org.

Through initiatives like the Great American Cleanup, Keep America Beautiful affiliates, corporate partners, and organizations, alongside millions of volunteers, contribute to the transformation of communities and public spaces. Together, they work to create cleaner, safer, and healthier environments where people can live, work, and play. In 2023, Keep America Beautiful celebrated the 25th Annual Great American Cleanup. Volunteers across the country joined together to clean and beautify their communities, removing more than 10 million pounds of litter and debris; cleaning and improving 787,966 acres of parks, public lands, playgrounds, and trails; planting 6,257 trees and more than 65,000 plants, flowers, shrubs, and bulbs.

Keep Carter County Beautiful will provide garbage bags, safety vests, and grabbers for volunteers. Water and gloves will also be provided for those who do not have them. As a special thank you to our volunteers, we will be providing Gift Cards from Jersey Mike’s in Elizabethton. So come on out, help your community, and have lunch with us.
