Carl Monroe Clark passed away May 4, 2024 after an extended illness. He was born on November 24, 1954 to Nannie Elizabeth Buchanan Clark and Charlie Clark in Banner Elk, N.C.

 

Carl was a brick/block mason by trade. He worked at Snap-on Tools for J&L Construction for 10 years.

 

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lily Addison Jarrett; his brothers, Wayne Buchanan and Bill Clark; his sister, Daisy Harrison; and his best friend that was as close as a brother, Terry Dean Scalf.

 

He is survived by his wife of 44-1/2 years, Jane Reynolds Clark. He is also survived by his two daughters, Misty Dawn Clark (Morgan Stevens) and Alicia Jane Jarrett (Timothy Jarrett); his brother, Mike Clark; his sisters, Nora Lea Hill and Francis McKinney; his grandchildren, Matthew Barnett, Cortland Carter Jarrett, Brilee Jarrett, Maxwell Stevens and Mark Stevens; and his step grandchildren, Devon Jarrett, Hunter Jarrett, Travis Jarrett, Jhona Stevens and Dylan Stevens.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 9, at Hunter Fire Hall from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers you can bring non-perishable food items to donate to the city schools students who need assistance. Carl wished to help students during summer and winter breaks as no child should go hungry. Thank you to Hospice (Amedisys) especially Megan Renfro and Jerry Brown.
