On April 23, Johnson City Police Department officers arrested Marcus Prather, 45, of Johnson City, charging him with aggravated assault, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
The arrest followed a 4 p.m. response to a shots fired call at a residence in the 200 block of Wilson Avenue. Upon arrival, officers identified Prather as the suspect. The victim, located in a neighboring county, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg during the incident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigation revealed that the gunfire erupted from an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
Prather was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
