Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Nathaniel “San” Haywood Stewart Jr., Johnson City, passed away peacefully in his sleep February 27, 2024. Taking all his elaborate and entertaining stories with him. Born in Dallas, Ore., to Marjorie and Haywood Stewart, he moved to the Johnson City, Tenn. area in 1976 where he met the love of his life, Regina Harvell, wife of 44 years.

He was known to all who knew him as a man of many words. But it was these stories that continued to bring people together for the last six decades. He never knew a stranger; if you had an ear, you had a friend in San. He was generous with his time and the first to offer the shirt off his back.

San leaves behind not only his ever-growing circle of friends but a loving family. In addition to his wife Regina, he is survived by his two sons, Codi and Wesley Stewart; two grandsons, Carson Wards and Silas Stewart; granddaughter, Lyla Stewart; and daughter-in-law, Rachna Sekhon-Stewart, along with a long list of special nieces and nephews whom he cared for all dearly.

We ask for love and prayers as we navigate this new chapter in our family’s history.

You will be missed immensely San.

One less story will be told today.

It was his wish to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.

Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Stewart family.
