Blanche P. Mackley, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William I. and Vada Kessinger Powell.

Blanche had previously been employed in the Housekeeping Department of the Disney World Hotel, Orlando, Fla. She was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. She loved being with her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Mackley, who passed away November 20, 1999, and three brothers, Henry, Claude and Carliss Powell.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert W. Mackley, of the home, and Chad (Angel) Mackley, Westover, Md.; six grandchildren, Zachary, Logan, Dylan, Alysa, Ethan and Evan Mackley; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Pastor Mark Potter officiating. Music will be provided by Lisa Poole. Active pallbearers will be Chad, Herbert, Zachary, Logan and Ethan Mackley and Kenneth Powell. The family would like to express a special thank you to Lisa Poole, Jean Payne, Kenneth and Lori Powell and Pastor Mark Potter for their prayers and support during her illness. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 12 noon Friday. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Friday for the graveside service.
