The following arrests have been reported by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office: 

• February 22 
  • Sgt. J. Johnson and Deputy Nicholas Gass arrested Ricky Joseph Martin Jr. Martin had an active warrant out of Gwinnett County, Ga., for violation of probation with full extradition. Martin was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Carter County Detention Center. Deputy Dalton McCloud charged Martin with fugitive from justice for crime in another state.
  • Lt. Christopher Peek arrested Larry Scott Kerly for failure to appear out of Carter County Circuit Court. Kerly was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
  • Deputy Jeff Winters took Christopher Robert Keenan into custody at Sinking Creek Baptist Church for violation of probation issued out of General Sessions Court of Carter County. Transportation and warrant service to the Carter County Detention Center were completed without incident.
  • Deputy Heath Taylor arrested Zachery Montana Orren for violation of community corrections. Orren was transported to Carter County Detention Center without incident and is being held without bond.
• February 21
  • Deputy Dalton McCloud arrested Rico Shane Taylor for driving under the influence (first offense). Taylor was taken into custody after failing standardized field sobriety tests and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
  • Deputies Dalton McCloud and R. Huskins arrested Ericka Devin Dales for an active warrant for failure to appear out of Carter County General Sessions Court. Dales was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
  • Deputy Dalton McCloud picked up Natosha Dale Benfield at the intersection of Hwy. 19E and Bunker Hill Road following an active warrant from Carter County General Sessions Court for violation of probation. Benfield was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
  • Deputy Cory Locklear responded to Elizabethton Highway and arrested Marcos Garcia Alonozo for underage driving while impaired. Alonozo was taken to the Carter County Detention Center after being found unconscious in a vehicle with open beer cans.
• February 20
  • Sgt. Robert Scott and Deputy Donovan Bemiller responded to Johnson Street, Roan Mountain, and arrested Nicky Ray McKinney for aggravated criminal trespass and possession of methamphetamine. McKinney was taken into custody after being found in the residence and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
  • Deputy Jeff Winters took Joshua Lee Davis into custody at Johnson County Jail for violation of probation issued out of General Sessions Court for Carter County. Davis was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
• February 19
  • Deputy Donovan Bemiller responded to the Butler Bridge, Butler, and took possession of Barry Eugene Spicer from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. Spicer had an active warrant for failure to appear out of Carter County General Sessions and was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
