The Elizabethton Beverage Board approved during Thursday night’s regular meeting a temporary beer permit requested by Main Street Elizabethton to sell beer during a film premiere at Bonnie Kate Theatre.

Courtney Bean, Main Street Elizabethton director, requested the permit be granted for the Friday, Feb. 23, showing of “Old Souls, New Stories,” a film that showcases local residents and their stories and will launch the new downtown tagline. Riverside Taphouse, which has an on-premises beer permit at 635 E. Elk Ave., will be the vendor during the event, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
